Terms & Conditions

1. Exclusions - the rates, unless specified, do not include the following items, the costs of which are for the purchasers account or additional quotes can be requested.

 

• No provision has been made for any extra-ordinary health & safety requirements e.g. safety officer, safety file etc.

• Camjet has not allowed for after-hours, night or weekend work unless expressly stated in

the quoted rates. Should this become a requirement the price will be amended accordingly.
• Camjet has not allowed for extra security and if security is required, it must be provided by the purchaser.


2. Please note that all these terms, including specific conditions of service, must be included in any appointment letter, award letter, agreement or contract.

3. Commencement date will be confirmed on receipt of signed acceptance of rates/quote and proof of payment has been received.


4. The Purchaser or an elected representative must be on site to confirm the area or lines to be

however because pipelines are usually concealed, should it be discovered that the layout and/or condition varies dramatically from the initial assumption, Camjet will communicate with the client to renegotiate the contract or create a variation order.

5. Rates are quoted assuming that the layout and/or condition of the pipeline network is as seen or indicated,encountered it must be brought to the attention of Camjet management immediately. The site will be assessed and a joint decision between Camjet and the purchaser will be made with regard to the handling of said waste.


6. Should changes to time frames and/or the scope of work, need to be made by the purchaser, reasonable time frames must be given to Camjet to allow for correct planning.


7. Camjet will endeavour to complete the work in the estimated time quoted, however should additional time be required we will contact the purchaser to inform them of such additional time needed to complete said works.

 

8. Should Camjet have to wait on site while preparations are being made before the team can start work, a standing time rate, equivalent to the service being quoted, will be charged.

9. Total quantities billable will be remeasured and calculated on completion of work for final payment. In the event that on final measurement, the total contract price or the price of any group of related items, varies by more than 20% of the tendered price, up or down, Camjet reserves the right to re-negotiate and change the tendered rates. Payment - all prices are nett of VAT

• No work will commence until the required deposit is reflected in our account.
• Payment terms, set out in the quote, will attract interest at the prescribed rate in terms of the Interest Act No 55 of 1975 - 2% interest per month.
• Should there be a significant increase in material or operating costs beyond our control during a project, Camjet reserves the right to renegotiate rates.

• Upon the completion of the quoted works the retention will be 0%. All balances to be paid according to specified payment terms.
• Camjet reserves the right to call for satisfactory securities for payment of the contract sum or any portion thereof at its sole discretion.

Specific Conditions for Jetting/ Vacuuming services

1. Exclusions - The rates, unless specified, do not include the following items, the costs of which are for the purchaser. Alternatively, an additional quote must be requested.


• Removal of sand and debris on the road surface, gutters or off site.  Removal of debris /silt/ waste material to a spoil facility.
• Removal of toxic waste and the transporting of it to a specialised waste management site. Should toxic waste be worked on. Should the incorrect area or lines be shown to Camjet’s staff we will not be held responsible and will bill for work carried out.
• Hoarding, shoring, lighting and/or any other protection on site as required.
• Sanitary conveniences on, or adjacent to each site for workers and site staff.

• A detailed jetting report• Traffic signage and accommodation of traffic. • Water for jetting equipment. Should Camjet need to collect water from a different site, including a grey water depot, the time taken for water collection will be included in the hours spent on site.


2. The rates/quote includes the removal of normal non-toxic sand, silt and debris from the manholes and drains but not, as per the exclusions above to another site.

 

3. Camjet will not be held responsible for any damages to pipe lengths and or surrounding areas, nor for any damage / flooding to the property should the existing pipes not be structurally sound and/or burst during the cleaning. Camjet assures that every effort will be taken to avoid such a scenario.


4. Suitable access to the respective lines is required for our HP Jetting equipment to achieve optimum results


5. The Purchaser or an elected representative must be on site to confirm the area or lines to be worked on and where to fill water. Should the incorrect information be given to Camjet’s staff we will not be held responsible and will bill for work carried out.

 

6. Camjet cannot give a guarantee on unblocked lines as the cause of the blockage may be broken or displaced pipes and joints which will require an inspection to verify, alternatively it may also be due to the type and quantity of waste being discharged into the system e.g. fat.

 

7. Should Camjet arrive on site and not be able to jet lines for whatever reason that is beyond our control a Call Out/Establishment fee as well as standing time, if any, will be charged.


8. Vacuuming – Permission and details of the site where waste is to be dumped must be provided prior to the commencement of work. If off site dumping is required additional rates may be charged depending on type of waste and location. Samples may need to be taken prior to starting to confirm type of waste and arrange approval from dumpsites.


9. Access to sumps and manholes must be arranged.

10. Should man entry into sumps/manholes be required, specialised gas testing and safety equipment may be required and charged as an extra to quote.
